Calm Skin Tonic
A soothing toner and refreshing face spritz. Hydrating and nourishing this tonic is good for skin irritations such as sunburn and can be used in your daily skin care ritual after cleansing.
This is a two part recipe.
Start by making Calming Witch Hazel Infusion:
Ingredients:
2oz lavender buds
2oz cleavers
2oz green tea leaves
8oz witch hazel
1 mason jar (1/2 pint or pint)
Add dry ingredients to the jar and cover with witch hazel. Seal the jar and give it a good shake. Store out of the sun. Shake it daily (or whenever you remember!) It will ready in two weeks, but if it sits for four, it is still good! Use cheese cloth or a clean tea towel (one that you don't mind potentially staining) to strain off the liquid into a bowl or jar. Wrap up the herbs and give them a good squeeze to get out as much liquid yield as possible. My infusion usually yields about 6.5oz. Compost the used herbs. Store the blend in a sealed container in a cool dark place.
This witch hazel infusion can be used on it's own as a cooling astringent.
